HOW TO CARE FOR GOLD-PLATED  JEWELRY

The gold layer applied to silver jewelry is susceptible to wear, which is a natural result of its use.
To preserve it longer, handle it with care.

When caring for gold-plated silver jewelry, it's advisable to follow these recommendations to maintain its golden shine for longer:

  • Remove your jewelry before sleeping, bathing, doing household chores, or engaging in activities that could expose it to contact with detergents or excessive abrasion.

  • Avoid direct contact between the jewelry and chemical agents, cosmetics or alcohol (commonly found in perfumes).

  • To prevent scratches that could lead to the wearing off of the gold layer, avoid letting your jewelry come into contact with other accessories (e.g., watches).

  • Store your jewelry in a box or its original Lilé package to protect it from prolonged exposure to sunlight.

  • Avoid leaving your jewelry in the bathroom, as storing silver in a humid environment can negatively affect its color and shine (oxidation/darkening).

  • Remove jewelry when washing hands or cleaning.

  • Consider wearing gold-plated jewelry for special occasions, not during activities like workouts or beach bathing, as exposure to moisture, UV rays, or sea salt can damage it.

Cleaning:

  • To maintain the golden shine of gold-plated jewelry for as long as possible, clean it extremely delicately. Specialized jewelry cleaning cloths or a soft cotton/silk cloth moistened with gold jewelry cleaner are recommended for this purpose.

  • However, it's crucial to perform these actions gently and with care.

  • Avoid cleaning gold-plated jewelry with detergents and chemical substances that might cause discoloration.
